Security Types help you categorise Security Items into groups of similar items. They also define certain characteristics of the Security Item such as its Collateral Class, which may be left as "Not applicable" to opt out of registering the collateral under the PPSR.

You can have as many Security Types as you require to categorise your Security Items.

Security Items can be reported on using the Security Type as a Grouping or Range parameter.
