The Document Manager Add-On adds facilities to list files stored on disk that relate to a Client, Account, External Party or Security Statement.
Instead of storing filing cabinets of paper documents you can scan and store these electronically. These scanned documents should be located in a separate folder for each Client, Account or Security Statement. finPOWER Connect will then display a list of these documents and allow you to double-click to quickly open.
finPOWER Connect can handle any type of file, whether a text document, word document or image, provided a Windows file association has been created for the file type. For further information on changing file associations refer to your Microsoft online Help or see http://support.microsoft.com.
Examples of use:
- Scanned Images of documents relating to the initial loan contract, including ID's.
- Digital pictures of security items.
- Scanned images of correspondence received from the Client.
- Documents and notices issued from the Finance Company to the Client.
- Store copies of generated letters where the text was manually changed before being printed. The normal letter log would be used where a standard letter or statement is sent from finPOWER Connect, therefore there is no need to save the individual document in the Document Manager. However in some circumstances, specific changes may be made to a generated letter or statement and in this case the changed document would be saved into the relevant folder and can be reprinted if required.
