The Import Transactions facility allows transactions to be posted to finPOWER Connect accounts from any external source such as a Bank. The process involves obtaining the source file, importing it into a saved batch the opening and committing that batch.
Before commencing the Bank Transaction Import you must create an export file from your Banking software and setup the Import Type from Admin, Bank Account. This is normally a case of downloading the latest banking information, then running an export or extract transactions option.
Import formats supported are listed below.

There is a small difference between the file format produced by your ANZ banking software if your bank account was with the National Bank. You will need to contact your bank to advise them of this if the normal ANZ Direct transaction export file will not import into finPOWER Connect. |
ASB Dishonour | This file format supports dishonours only and supports transaction code 0. |

ABA Standard Exceptions | This Bank Import is for an Exception file of Rejected and Cancelled transactions created by the Bank after a Client has exported transactions using the finPOWER Connect ABA Standard Direct Entry file format Export Service. For transactions that do not get imported by the bank, a file of Exceptions is created and the transactions are flagged as either "R"ejected or "C"ancelled. |
ABA Standard Returned Items | ABA Standard Direct Entry Transactions that do get imported by the Bank but are dishonoured are imported back into finPOWER Connect using the ABA Standard Direct Entry Returned Items import service. |
AusPost BillPay (type 1) | This format is used by AusPost and is based upon using numeric Account Codes with a minimum length of 1 and a maximum length of 6 characters. |
AusPost BillPay (type 2) | This format is used by AusPost and is based upon using numeric Account Codes with a minimum length of 5 and a maximum length of 7 characters. |
BAI | This is a standardised bank transactions import format, which can be used by most banks. |
BAI 2 | This format is slightly different from BAI. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA) supports this format. |
