The information available on ABN Lookup is provided through the A New Tax System (Australian Business Number) Act 1999 and is described in greater detail below.

ABN and ABN status

The ABN is a unique 11 digit identifier issued to all entities registered in the Australian Business Register (ABR).
An ABN can have a status of active or cancelled. A status of cancelled means the business has ceased trading.
